What is ABA Therapy?

Often when families are recommended for ABA Therapy, they are not provided with much direction. G & L Behavior Solutions is here to help! We offer quality services and help families understand the process. ABA is a team effort and families should never feel alone.

So, what is ABA Therapy? ABA Therapy is an evidence-based practice that helps improve skills such as safety skills, independent living skills, communication skills, social skills, academic skills, and play skills. The process begins with conducting assessments to gather comprehensive information about your child's skills and any behaviors of concern. After the assessment process, a behavior support plan is developed, and strategies are implemented to improve skills and decrease behaviors that may interfere with the acquisition of those skills. Implementation of these strategies is evaluated continually so that changes to the plan can be made as needed to ensure our actions are effective. A big part of ABA Therapy, though, is collaboration with parents and caregivers. At G & L Behavior Solutions we offer parent support services to focus on providing parents and caregivers with training to implement the same strategies we use.
